The Classical Weapons of Japan
Matayoshi Kobujutsu
Matayoshi Kobujutsu is a classical Okinawan weapons system from the time of the Ryukyu Kingdom, passed down through the Matayoshi family. Training at Tatsukan Dojo focuses on strong basics, traditional kata, and practical use of weapons such as bo, sai, tonfa, and nunchaku, always rooted in respect and control.
Japanese Kenjutsu
Japanese Kenjutsu at Tatsukan Dojo preserves the old ways of the sword. Students learn safe handling, cutting lines, and paired forms that build timing, distance, and calm focus, connecting modern practice to the mindset and discipline of the samurai.
